We’re excited to be asked to be back at the State Fair again this year. The State Fair is our biggest opportunity to share our love of Quilting and to promote our craft. Thousands of people attend the State fair.

This year we are grateful to Jamie Watson, who is a member of the Nooners Quilt Circle, for not only donating all the fabric, she also did the piecing and quilted this year’s State Fair Quilt. THANK YOU Jamie.

This year we are featuring our Community Services outreach programs. This is a great way to showcase our Guild and what it contributes to the community. Exhibit’s will include samples of quilts given to several local hospitals for children, quilts made by our Veteran’s Group that are donated to Mather Veteran’s Hospital and several other items made for our outreach programs.

Volunteers will be able to work on piecing, (we will have a sewing machine available) binding, applique’ hand quilting, or machine quilting. There will be community service quilts there for you to work on. There will be fabric squares available for fair visitors to design a nine-patch block that our volunteers will sew together to make Community Service quilts. One of the most satisfying parts of volunteering is getting to talk and educate people about quilting.

We will be taking signups at the Guild meetings and do hope that you will join us for a session or two. As a volunteer you will receive a pass into the fair as well as a parking pass for each day you sign up for.
